Artist Bio

Originally from New Delhi and now based in Brooklyn, HARJI is a producer and DJ whose sound pulls from house, tribal, techno, and electronica. His music is shaped by years spent between late-night rooms, global dance floors, and time in the studio refining a sound that prioritizes groove, tension, and atmosphere over trends.

HARJI’s relationship with dance music began early. He started DJing at 16, during a formative period in New York nightlife as the city began to reassert itself as a global dance capital. Coming up in the era when venues like Crobar defined the city’s underground and the first wave of modern club culture was taking shape, he developed his instincts on real dance floors, long before algorithms or social metrics entered the conversation. When Pacha NYC opened, HARJI became a resident DJ, sharpening a style rooted in patience, control, and reading the room.

That approach still defines his work today. His sets are intentional and built to evolve rather than rush, favoring slow tension and emotional continuity over constant peaks. This has taken him to venues such as Brooklyn Mirage and Melkweg during Amsterdam Dance Event, and earned support from artists including Guy Gerber, Bedouin, BLOND:ISH, Nhii, Malone, AMEME, HUGEL, Joeski and more. His releases have appeared on labels like Sol Selectas, Made The Girls Dance, Human By Default, One Tribe, Sounds of Khemit, and Indo Warehouse, each reflecting a different phase of his sound.

Music is not a side project for HARJI. It’s a core practice.

Years of experimentation across styles, rooms, and eras have led him to define his sound as “sexy house.” Not as a genre, but as an intention. House music that feels physical and emotional at the same time. Warm, restrained, and expressive. Music that sounds as good as it feels, built for movement, connection, and late-night intimacy rather than spectacle.

Outside of music, HARJI builds brands and companies at the intersection of design, culture, and technology. He works best with people who value taste, authenticity, clarity, and execution, and is drawn to projects that carry real creative and commercial intent. That same mindset informs his approach to sound. He treats music as a system, a language, and a space for exploration rather than a fixed category.

Whether producing, playing late-night sets, or releasing records through his label, HARJI focuses on making music that feels lived-in, functional, and emotionally grounded. The goal is simple. Create work that holds up over time and feels right in the room.
